CSC Scholarship
Do you want to study in China on
a fully funded scholarship?
Then you are at the right place
because in this article I will tell you everything about the most exciting
scholarship opportunity in China. This scholarship position is the CSC Scholarship
in China, and it is the best fully funded scholarship for Pakistani students.
At the end of this article, you
will know the complete procedure to apply for the CSC scholarship position. Also,
with my experience, I will share tips to help you easily get this CSC
scholarship.
In this article, I will explain
my information about when, where and how to apply for scholarships, in which
subjects and how the chances of getting scholarships can be increased. But
there are many things to do before all this and you have to fulfill CSC
Scholarship requirements.
1. Preparation of CV:
The first thing to do is make
your best CV. There are many things to remember about this. Not every work has
the same CV. There is a big difference between applying for a job and applying
for studies. The same CV will not work in both places, the style should be
different. Similarly, if you are applying as a research scholar, there should
be a difference between your CV and that of an ordinary student.

For the work you are applying for, your CV should be designed according to the purpose for which the relevant things are highlighted. Then if your CV is made once, keep updating it. Describe whether you've learned a new software, learned a new language, or attended a conference. Our science students find it useless to go to research conferences. People all over the world spend millions of rupees just to attend a conference. This is also given a lot of importance here in China. Similarly, put the degree obtained first. If you want to apply for MS, people will not want to know about your matriculation but about BS first, when and what was the performance etc.
2. Preparation of Research Proposal:
When a CV is made, the second
important task for a science student is to choose his favourite field for
research and prepare a good research proposal. The basis for making a good
research proposal is deep study. The more you study, the more aware you are of
the innovations and new discoveries in your subject, and the more easily you will
be able to make a proposal. You can also seek the help of your former teachers
and friends (if they are so generous). But keep in mind that after selection,
the professor may change your project or change your department. Prepare
yourself for these changes. Most of our students also have a misconception that
as soon as we reach China, the professor will do everything for us.
It is then important to know
where and in what subjects you can get scholarships in China and in which not.
It is very important to take care of many things in this regard. About 300
universities in China are authorized to admit international students. The full
list can be found on the China Scholarship Council website.

The number of scholarships for BS
is very low and MBBS holders do not get scholarships. All the expenses must
be borne by the student himself. If you want to come to China to do MBBS, I
think it's a waste of money, don't come at all. China's standards in this
regard are very different from the rest of the world. Masters (which is
equivalent to MS or MPhil) have the highest number of scholarships available,
so the chances of getting them are also high. But here the duration for a master's is
three years. In some universities, MS is in Chinese, not English. For this, the
first one-year language course is conducted by the university itself.
Masters is two years in the rest
of the world, so why three years here in China? It's their will but it's also
an advantage. If you want to do a Master's leading to a PhD, then you will get a
PhD degree in just five years after BS. As far as I know from the professors
here, professors like the students applying for MS Leading to PhD. For example,
if you are applying for sciences after BS, you should tell the professor that
you also want to do a PhD under his supervision. It is good for both the lab
and the professor. That's why he supervises you wholeheartedly and if
you've got a good professor, it's good for the student.

This is followed by a PhD scholarship. The number is relatively low compared to masters. The amount of pocket money is more, but keep in mind that if you are a science student, there will not be much difference between MS and PhD research here in China. In some universities, MS and PhD coursework is also combined. So, what you have to do in master's, the same work will be being taken from a PhD student. So, if you're thinking that masters might be easier, that's a misconception.

Now I will tell you what
scholarships you can apply for. If you have done a BS (four years) or MSc, you
can apply on almost every scholarship. Which scholarship is best for you? It
depends on which university you are applying to. For example, if you are
applying to the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the best scholarship
for MS is the newly released Belt
and Road Scholarship. It will get a stipend equal to at least 60,000
Pakistani rupees per month and it can be more. The drawback to this scholarship
is that you will have to pay the accommodation money yourself. But if you want
to apply to Shanghai University, the best scholarship is CSC
(Chinese Government Scholarship). However, one of its terms is that you
cannot apply for any other scholarship in China for at least one year after
doing MS. But there are many cases that prove that this condition has not yet
been applied.
If you have done MS and you want
to apply to the universities of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, then the best
scholarship is the "ANSO
Scholarship". It receives a monthly stipend equivalent to about 1.25
million Pakistani rupees. However, the drawback is that this scholarship is
available only in two universities affiliated with the Chinese Academy of
Sciences. Therefore, to apply to the rest of the universities, other
scholarships will have to be taken, and the newly released scholarship Belt
and Road Scholarship is now the most prominent. Regarding scholarships, it
should be remembered that the scholarship money is allocated by the funding
agency, but if the professor wants, he can also give additional money to
himself. Another thing to keep in mind is that the minimum stipend for Master's
is 3000 RMB and 3500 RMB for a PhD.
A student can apply for multiple
scholarships at a time. Similarly, it can also be applied to many universities
at the same time. It is better to apply to many professors in many
universities, the answer will come from one place. Similarly, you can apply for
a scholarship (such as CSC) even if you do not receive an acceptance letter
from the professor. You should not sit in despair that if the professor does
not answer you, you will not get a scholarship without an acceptance letter
Another thing is merit. The required merit for each scholarship is given on the website. But this is not a line drawn on a stone. So far, there is no such hard kind of merit here. Most admissions here are at the discretion of the professor. I still fail to understand what the professor sees and admits. So, whether your marks are small or high, CGPA high or low, you must try at least once. In this regard, make sure that if your marks etc. are low, then if you apply to remote low-ranking universities other than Beijing or big universities at the central level, the chances will be higher. Similarly, if you apply to a professor who does not already have a foreign student, it is more likely that he will select you.

A𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲?
You have completed the CSC
Scholarship requirements, but now the question remains, when where and how to apply
in China? It's very simple. Where to do it? It's your will. Check your own
results and quality. Guess you're a very intelligent student, average or low.
Then start looking for a university for yourself accordingly. In large cities
such as Shanghai or Beijing, as well as good universities, such as Peking or Shanghai,
a lot of foreign students apply every year, so the competition is also high. So,
if you think that the result is not very good, then apply to an average
university in a small town. Yes! If you somehow get an acceptance letter from a
professor at a good university, there is a good chance that admission will take
place, even if you are a mediocre student.
The most important thing for
science students is their research. It is beneficial if your CGPA is three or above
in curricular activities. The more than three, the better. Along with this, the
second basic and important thing is research papers. The more research papers
you have, the more likely you are to get a scholarship. At the same time, if
you have attended a conference or presented a poster related to your article,
it can also increase your chances. Describe all these things prominently in the
CV.
Similarly, a good and quality
research proposal can also increase your chances, but it is not everything.
Some professors don't pay much attention to these proposals. Keeping all these
things in mind, decide which university to apply to. You can also consult a
friend or teacher in this regard.
The acceptance letter is another
important thing for admission. This means that you email the professor related
to your article with relevant documents asking for permission whether the
professor is ready to do research with you or not. If he agrees, then he issues
a letter called an acceptance letter. If you get an acceptance letter, you
don't necessarily get a scholarship, but chances are high. However, even if you
do not get an acceptance letter, you can still get a scholarship. If you do not
have an acceptance letter, you can still apply for a scholarship. In this case,
if you are admitted, the university will automatically refer you to a professor
of your respective subject. In some universities, such as the University of the
Chinese Academy of Sciences, every student enrolled receives a scholarship even
if they have not applied. In such a case, if you are a master's student, you
will get funding from the Belt and Road Initiative Program.
In most universities, and in all
good universities, the time to apply for scholarships is from December to the
end of March. But there are a lot of things to do before that. For example, make
your CV. You can also take the help of your university teachers in this regard.
The second task is to try to see that one of your papers has been printed in a
journal or at least submitted. Similarly, if you have time, do an internship in
a research institute, even if you do not get the money for it. And attend
conferences and seminars related to your subject as much as possible, present
posters. This will be very beneficial for you. Keep recording all these things
in your CV, it will make a big difference. Apart from this, make a research
proposal in the subject in which you want to research. It is better to think
further about the subject you took in the last degree, but you can also change
your field. Study is very important to make a proposal and by study, I mean
awareness of the latest research in your field. For this, you must read
research journals.
Some students have repeatedly
asked how to contact the professor for an acceptance letter and which time is
better? So, contact Mr. Professor by e-mail. The university's website has an
email from professors, take it from there. Also, if someone you know is in
China, ask him to meet with the concerned professor and talk about you (if he
is anywhere close). The best time for this is from September to December. Try
to get a letter from somewhere before December. However, try to get all this
work completed before December. Almost all good scholarships, including Chinese
government scholarships, open in December.
And now it's time to apply. Their
website also has all the procedures for Chinese government scholarships:
One thing to keep in mind is that
they do not have any representative or agent in any other country for Chinese
government scholarships. Since admission must be decided by the university, it
is possible that some universities may have some agents, but no matter how good
universities are, they have no agents. Similarly, universities charge about
10,000 to 15,000 Pakistani rupees in the name of admission alone. Apart from
this, do not give any kind of money to any person and no one is authorized to
take it.
5. 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁
𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:
In addition to Chinese government
scholarships, there are many scholarships in China. As far as possible,
everyone should apply. Recently, a new scholarship called the Belt and Road
Initiative has been released. This time a large number of Pakistanis were selected
in it. In some universities, the package under this scholarship is also better
than the Chinese Government Scholarship, such as the University of Chinese
Academy of Sciences. You will have to contact the concerned university to apply
for it. Some universities have also empowered HEC to select students for them.
Similarly, Chinese Local
Government Scholarships is another scheme under which scholarships are issued
to foreign students. Suppose your university is in Beijing, you can apply for
Beijing Local Government Scholarships. Funding in big cities is good and so are
opportunities. Such scholarships are scarce in smaller cities. In addition,
Chinese university scholarships are another good choice. Each university also
gives scholarships to some foreign students from the funds it has. For this,
you can contact the admission department of the concerned university.
Professor funding is another
option, if you don't get a scholarship. But it's very difficult and depends on
how much you impress the professor and how generous the professor himself is.
If you are applying for a PhD at the Chinese Academy of Sciences or the
University of Science and Technology of China, apply for a "CAS
President's Fellowship." Funding is also good and other facilities are
also very notable.
6. My Opinion:
Getting a fully funded scholarship
is not a piece of cake. You have to work hard in order to meet the CSC scholarship
requirements. So, start working step by step on these requirements for a fully
funded scholarship and start in advance a year in order to make your
application stand out. You should not be restricted by rejection, make it a
habit to face rejections because one positive response for any scholarship
position can change your life.
What is CSC Scholarship, Scholarship Council and China Scholarship?
The CSC Scholarship 2024 is offered by the China Scholarship Council, also known as the China Government Scholarships (CGS). The China Scholarship Council offers fully funded scholarships to study undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs in Chinese universities under the Chinese Government Scholarship Program (CGS). The China Scholarship Council offers many scholarships under the Chinese Government Scholarship Programs (CGS): Chinese Government Scholarship - Great Wall Program Chinese Government Scholarship - EU Program Chinese Government Scholarship - AUN- Program China Maritime Scholarship Chinese Government Scholarship - WMO Program Chinese Government Scholarship - PIF Program Chinese Government Scholarship - Chinese University Program Chinese Government Scholarship - Bilateral Program MOFCOM Scholarship Scholars can apply for a CSC - Scholarship in more than one university at the same time. I recommend not applying to more than three universities. However, to get a CSC scholarship, you must complete a separate CSC scholarship online application and university application and then submit it to each university separately. According to information confirmed by the China Scholarship Council, foreign students can freely apply for scholarships to 273 universities, and these universities are recognized by the China Scholarship Council.
What are the chances of winning a Chinese government scholarship?
If your grade is above average and you have a clear and novel research or study plan, you have a high chance of being selected for a Chinese government scholarship offered by CSC at any of the 273 Chinese universities recognized in China. Scholarship Council. There are many cases in Chinese universities where students with high grades were often rejected because they did not write a research proposal or program. Therefore, you could freely write the plagiarism in your own words, and you can also get an idea from the mentioned sample in the download section. We have also seen the average student successfully win fully funded Chinese scholarships just because of their perfectly listed documents and a well-researched and beautifully written study plan or research proposal.
Can a student apply for a CSC scholarship at more than one university?
NEW CSC Policy Updated: In each registration year, each applicant can submit a maximum of 3 applications, including a maximum of 2 Type A and 1 Type B applications. The same applicant cannot send multiple type of applications to the same institution. If the B-type application applicant has several favorable Chinese universities, the applicant must choose one of them for the scholarship. As part of the B-type application submitted by the university, the applicant's decision is considered final, which cannot be changed during the application process. You just need to make sure you complete the university's separate online CSC scholarship application forms. Applying for a Chinese scholarship through Type A to more than one university will increase your chances of winning a scholarship. China Scholarship Council officials change the policy in only three universities, following 1 CSC for scholarship category B and 2 CSC for scholarship category A. If more than one university has selected, you for CSC scholarship. The China Scholarship Council will then decide which university is good enough for you, and then you will be accepted into the CSC scholarship at that university. Almost 273 universities in China offer CSC scholarships for international students. If the China Scholarship Council decides the university for you, you will not be able to change the university after the notification.
Is Chinese language or IELTS, TOFEL necessary for Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS)?
Of course not! 99% of Chinese universities do not require IELTS or TOEFL if your first language is English or English was the language of instruction in your country when you last studied. You can get an English language certificate from your previous university, and it works. There are many universities where the language of instruction is only Chinese, but they offer one year of Chinese with CSC scholarships, you don't need to apply separately, the university caters to everyone, and I believe it is a friendly way to learn Chinese. If you are worried about the thesis, it depends entirely on your professor, they are usually willing to write the thesis in English, so you don't have to worry about it.
Is there any age limit requirement for CSC scholarship?
Undergraduate Degree (25 years) Master’s Degree (35 years) Doctoral Degree (40 years)
